Teen arrested in Marlette break-in

MARLETTE — Law enforcement wasted no time apprehending the suspect in an early morning break-in.

Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Speedy Q on Main Street at 2:10 a.m. Friday for an alarm.

Officers found the glass to the front door had been broken out.

Law enforcement quickly tracked the 15-year-old male suspect through fresh snow to a residence in the 6000 block of Ervin Street.

A search of the residence produced stolen property from the business.

According to Marlette Chief of Police Brian McGinnis, the stolen property included a vape display and merchandise that was inside the display.

A joint investigation is continuing between the sheriff department and Marlette police.
