Maxine Elaine Parker

MAXINE ELAINE PARKER, 92, a resident of Croswell passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Lakeshore Woods in Fort Gratiot.

She was born on June 20, 1931 in Jeddo, Michigan, a daughter of the late Elmer and Grace (Mallor) Allen. She was the fifth of seven children and is survived by only one sister, Joyce Campbell. Maxine married Robert Clair Parker on July 9, 1966 in Croswell and they were married for 50 years before his death on December 19, 2016.

Maxine was one of the original pioneers in the Croswell area, holding onto an 80-acre farm while working in a factory and being a single mother all at the same time. She loved all things outdoors, including bird watching, gardening and mowing the lawn. Though she never learned how to swim, she made time to take her grandchildren to the lake. She faithfully tended the graves of her relatives each week in the Croswell Cemetery, teaching her children and grandchildren the importance of honoring our forebearers. Her strength and determination are a legacy to her family and she will be missed dearly.

Maxine has one daughter from a previous marriage, Elaine (Gary) Robins of Scipio, Utah. She was also involved in the lives of her step children, Gary (Diane) Parker of Port Huron, Terri (Bob) Campbell of Kimball Township and Kent (Charlene) Parker of Croswell. Maxine’s grandchildren include Denise (Larry) Spurgin of Texas, Corey (Julie) Clark of Missouri, Robert Parker, Tina Parker and Renee Parker all of Michigan, Darcy Campbell and Erica Campbell of Kimball Township, Roger Parker, Kevin (Jennifer) Parker of Croswell, Thomas (Amber) Parker of Virginia and Amanda Parker of Texas. She also has several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren to honor her memory.

Maxine was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Campbell and her sister, Betty Shook.

Visitation was 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell. Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Linda Fuller of the Croswell Free Methodist Church officiated. Interment followed in the Croswell Cemetery. www.pomeroyfuneralhomes.com
