Diane E. Foster

Diane E. Foster, age 70, of Marlette, passed away with family by her side Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital in Marlette.

She was born October 21, 1949 in Sandusky, daughter of Clifford and Leota “Genevieve” (Reid) Curtis. Diane graduated from Marlette High School with the Class of 1967. She married Max Foster on August 12, 1967 in Marlette. Diane worked as a Manager at Shoe Shack, Speedy Q and Mel Cole Jewelers in Marlette. She was then employed at Durakon in Lapeer as Inventory Manager for 19 years during which time she successfully completed her studies to receive an Associates Degree from Detroit College of Business. Diane later worked at DGP in Marlette for nine years retiring in 2015. She also worked with the Marlette Community Schools Backpack Program. Diane was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church in Marlette. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s events, crafts and baking.

Left to cherish Diane’s memory are her daughters, Jennifer (David) Mason, Jodi (Danny) Negin and Jill Foster (Dwight Mills); grandchildren, Lucas (Tiffany) Mason, Christian Mason (Kailey Shaver), Alexia Mason, Marc Mason, Kacie Negin, Kyle Negin, Kalista Negin and Leia Foster; great-granddaughter, Brynley Mason; sister, Ruth (John) Kopko; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Cripps) and husband Bill Bonner; brother-in-law, Kenneth Chard (Teddy Golen); many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Norm and Jayne Lefler, Roger and Brenda Redmond and John and Lynn Riley.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Max Foster; son, Joseph A. Foster; brother, Gene Curtis; and sister, Nancy Chard.

A Funeral Service was held at Marlette First United Methodist Church with Pastor George Ayoub officiating.

Burial followed in Marlette Cemetery in Marlette.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital or Marlette Community Schools Backpack Program.
