Deckerville hospital receives state designation

Deckerville Community Hospital has received their designation as a Level IV Trauma Facility. A Level IV Trauma Facility is one which has demonstrated the ability to provide advanced trauma life support prior to the transfer of patients to a higher-level trauma center while providing evaluation, stabilization and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients.

To become verified by the state as a Level IV Trauma Center, the hospital created and enacted policies that were consistent with current standards in trauma care and staff education. This included entering data into a state trauma registry, developing an injury prevention program based on the data and maintaining a performance improvement program.

“We are very proud of the hard work and determination of all of our employees who contributed to this achievement. The criteria and application processes were very difficult and time consuming,” said Angela McConnanchie, Deckerville hospital CEO”.
