100 years ago in Sanilac

Bessie Nims and Grant Smith were married on Monday afternoon at the Lexington home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. M.E. Janette. After a short boat trip, the couple will reside in Lexington. Friends are happy to see the happy result of their school-days romance.

Erle King has at last been accepted in the Navy and will leave on Tuesday to commence his training. He tried several times to enlist, and was obliged to come home and have his teeth fixed before he was accepted.

About a year ago, Dr. Cochrane of Peck had a storage battery stolen from his touring car, which was parked in his garage. The other night some unprincipled cuss entered the garage and stole another battery, worth $40.

This paper goes to press late Thursday afternoon. Many of our correspondents from other towns and people who have a news or advertising item still think it is fine to bring in or send their items on Thursday afternoon. They then complain they didn’t see the item in Friday’s paper. In order to accomplish the typesetting, we have to start with it on Monday. Items that arrive early in the week are sure to appear in that week’s paper.
