Lady Devils, ‘Skins divide East games

BROWN CITY – In a GTC East twinbill at Brown City last Thursday, the host Green Devils earned a split by whipping the Sandusky Redskins, 17-6, in the second game of doubleheader.

Six different players had multiple hits for the Lady Devils (5-3 in the East) in their win. Alexis Wiltsie and Nadrina Cournya led the way with three hits each, including a double. Zoe Mathews, Lexie Crenshaw, Makayla Gammon and Val Cutcher each had two hits and two RBIs apiece. Ellie Pitts was the winning pitcher.

The Redskins hung on for a win the opener. No stats were available for the ‘Skins.

BC had two singles from Wiltsie and a double and two RBIs from Crenshaw.

North Branch 11-22, Brown City 6-7: In a non-league doubleheader on Monday (May 7), BC lost twice to the Broncos.

Crenshaw (2b, 3 RBI) and Wiltsie (2b) each had two hits and Mathews added a double in the first game.

Cournya and Mathews had two hits apiece and Crenshaw added a triple and an RBI in the second contest
