While most of the state saw rainy and cold weather that night, the Brown City girls track team stayed high and dry. The high was the Lady Green Devils winning their division of the Falcon Invitational.

Brown City finished with 177.6 points to easily win the smaller school division. Roscommon was the runner-up with 115. Alpena, a Div. 1 school, edged Petoskey for the larger school division championship.

“We had a good night up there,” commented Don Twiss,BC head coach. “We were just north of the rain line – it was cold, but we didn’t get wet.”

“We finished the regular season undefeated and that includes regular meets and five invitationals,” Twiss pointed out. “This is the first time in BC history that has happened in track and field. This a tribute to a total team effort by all the girls.”
