The students advanced to nationals after placing first in the SkillsUSA State Competition in Grand Rapids April 20-22.

Three students, Skylah McDonald, Archer Thorman and Billie Fisler, all from Croswell-Lexington High School, competed in the Community Service Project where they presented their foster child project which included raising money for the children’s basic needs and spreading awareness for the need of foster families in Sanilac County.

The team placed first and has the opportunity to advance to the SkillsUSA National Competitions in Kentucky in June.

Also advancing to nationals is Josie Vincent from Peck High School, who took first place in the Early Childhood Education Contest.

All the students are instructed by Monique Soper in the Careers in Education Program.
