Top new prospects: Traiten Colesa (Fr., IF/OF); Richie Oldenburg (Fr., IF/OF); Carlos Ibarra (So., OF)

Coach Walker on this year’s team: “The team is working hard and the anticipation for the season is high. We are coming off a very solid season in which our team achieved 20 wins, but fell short in the league race and the districts - which has our seniors very hungry to win a championship. We are a group with substantial varsity experience, as all of our seniors have played critical innings the last three years.”

Coach Walker on the 2018 season: “We are expecting another tight race in the NCTL with Dryden being the favorite. Kingston, North Huron and Mayville are always very tough. Overall, I think the league should be very competitive, and with lots of hard work, we could be right in the mix. Our team is ready to improve on a solid season last year and prove that we are one of the better programs in the area. I am looking forward to see how we stack up against the top teams in our league.”

Coach: Christi Pavlovics, 15th season (Career W-L, 244-216)

Top new prospects: Kaylynn Kappen (Fr., Util.); Alaina Fetterhoff (Fr., OF); Cheyanne Nichols (Sr., DH); Renata Brandao (Jr.; foreign exchange student from Brazil)

Coach Pavlovics on this year’s team: “Lindsey Shutz will pitch the majority of the innings and is now considered a veteran pitcher. The core of the team is made up of seniors – Morningstar, Guza, Shutz, Flanagan, Binder and Kosal, who most have four years of experience, and they understand what it takes to win in this league.

“Shutz will do most of the pitching duties, but Williams has been working hard to become a back-up pitcher this year. Defensively, the Lady Eagles will be very strong in some key areas due to experience. Our team prides themselves on good defense, and this is what helps the Lady Eagles have successful seasons. At the plate, the team needs to be aggressive, and they need to work on improving each game to be successful”

Coach Pavlovics on the NCTL: “There are very competitive teams in the NCTL, and the Lady Eagles must be prepared and focused every game in order to be successful and to reach their lofty goal of winning a league championship every year.”
