Salomon “Sam” Gonzalez, age 87, of Marlette, died April 1, 2018. He was born March 8, 1931 in Odom, Texas, to Barney and Antonia Gonzalez. He served in the United Stated Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Rosa Lang in Saltzberg, Germany.

Sam worked for Buick Motors for many years and also at Tubb Ford and Dave Miller Ford. He had been a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Marlette Senior Citizens Club. One of his hobbies was playing the guitar which lead to playing for many wedding receptions over the years.

He is survived by four children, Yolanda Gonzalez, Raymond (Catherine) Gonzalez, Randy Gonzalez and Gary Gonzalez; seven grandchildren, Shania, Michael, Gary, Amy, Lelani, Sarah, Samuel and several great-grandchildren and several stepbrothers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa; six sisters, Florence, Lula, Ramona, Agnes, Pearl and Manuela and four brothers, Steve, Felix, John and Joe.

Funeral services were held at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City and burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
