Doris M. Caughel, age 82, of Lexington, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at her residence.

She was born on December 18, 1935 in Sandusky, a daughter of the late Archibald and Ada (Dafoe) Eagle. Doris married Charles E. Caughel, Sr. on April 4, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2016.

Doris was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, gardening and needle work, especially crocheting and embroidery. Doris also enjoyed many trips to the casino. Family was the most important thing to Doris, especially her late husband, Charles and her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Charles E. Caughel, Jr. of Atlanta, Michigan; three daughters, Charlotte Chomos of Grand Rapids, Reva Winningham of Las Vegas and Verna (Gary) Boyd of Grand Blanc; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie (Evans) Kohn of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Caughel in 1995; a granddaughter, Lori Jo Clairmont; a grandson, Alexander Morrish and her brother, Dale Eagle.

A Memorial Service was held at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Pastor Barry Sheldon of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. www.pomeroyfuneralhomes.com
