Sign up for the “Little Shaver” self-defense class

The SAVE Council and Eva’s Place are offering free training to help educate children on dealing with strangers.

Alerting children to “stranger danger” can both help them to be safe and reduce parents’ anxiety. The training will help to teach children to be wary of strangers but not to be overly fearful. Training will include the Stranger Rules Checklist, People Smarts (Stranger Danger), what you should and should not do if you are home alone, calling 911, and simple striking, stunning and escaping techniques.

Training is open for children 6 to 10 years of age, and each child must be accompanied by a parent. The SAVE Council and Eva’s Place are offering this training free of charge, class capacity is 25 children.

Register now for training on Sat., March 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Sandusky District Library, 55 E. Sanilac, Sandusky. Preregistration is required by calling 810-648-5463 and providing the name of the participant, phone number and an e-mail address.
