Two young lawyers have gone to work for veteran Prosecuting Attorney Jim Young.

The new assistant prosecutors are Courtney Driscoll of North Branch and Peter Drent of Sandusky.

Driscoll has been on the job since late August, while Drent started in early January of this year.

The two were hired to take the positions vacated by the departure of two previously serving assistants. One was fired and the other has moved on to another job with the county.

Both Driscoll and Drent trained at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and both are graduates of Michigan State University.

Driscoll is married with two daughters, a six-year-old and a one-yearold. She comes to the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s office from working as an associate attorney at a law firm in Almont.

Drent, who became engaged to be married at Christmas time, moved to Sandusky from Grand Rapids, where he worked in a private law firm for a criminal defense attorney.
