C-L wrestlers take title at NB Invite

Four Pioneers 5-0 on the day

NORTH BRANCH – The Croswell-Lexington wrestling team continued its dominance on the mat at Saturday’s North Branch Invitational team tournament.

The Pioneers won all five matches on the day and were led by four undefeated grapplers.

Team-wise, C-L beat Alpena (75-6), Cass City (56-24), Marlette (71-6), North Branch (49-21), and Pinconning (59-15).

Xavier Herman at 189, Paul Scaramuzzino at 160, Christopher Lilly at 130, and Xzavier Suess at 119 all posted 5-0 records. Herman had pins in four of his matches while Scaramuzzino and Lilly each had three pins and technical fall.

“The team really worked together to win the tournament. It was a team effort,” said Joe Lilly, C-L head coach. “The four undefeated lead the way …. And I’m very proud of what this team, overall, is doing every day to get better.”

Five more C-L wrestlers were 4-1 on the day – Ben Davis (103), Aaron Lieber (112), Wyatt Lamb (135), Devin Dominique (145), and Vincent Scaramuzzino (160)
