Ronald “Ron” Frederick Havens, age 71, of Clifford, passed away at his home Thursday, January 4, 2018.

He was born October 3, 1946 in Pontiac, son of the late Frederick and Ilah (Davis) Havens. Ron graduated from Marlette High School with the Class of 1965. After graduating high school he served our country in the United States Army, doing two tours in Vietnam. In the Army, Ron was a Door Gunner and Crew Chief of a Huey Helicopter in the First Cav Division. After an honorable discharge from the Army he was an airplane mechanic at DuPont Airport in Lapeer, and then a drove truck for many years. Ron was a member of the American Legion Post #457 in North Branch. He loved spending time with family, friends, his dog, “Baby” and enjoyed horseshoes, fishing and hunting.

Ron is survived by his ex-wife, Priscilla Havens; three children, Mark (Cynthia) Havens, Michele (Kenneth) Forrester and Heather (Donald) Lage; nine grandchildren, William (Stacy) Ray, Nicole (Jordan) Dziuba, Matthew Havens, Steven, Joseph, Lindsay and Darrell Schotter, Brittany Naracon and Brandon Spencer; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Judy (Merlin) Beers, Shirley (Mike) Sanger, Bonnie McCombs and Donna (Dave) Barnes.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Havens; and one brother-in-law, Glenn McCombs.

A Funeral service was held at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Military Honors being conducted by North Branch American Legion Post #457.
