‘Skins’ Dorman in Colt World Series

John Dorman John Dorman LAFAYETTE, Ind. – John Dorman, a Sanilac County News All-County pitcher/ infielder this last spring, is competing this week in the Colt World Series, which is being held in LaFayette, Indiana.

The senior to-be at Sandusky High has played in the Bay City Pony League this season and was selected to compete on the Bay City North All-Star team that has advanced to the World Series this week.

Through their first three games, Bay City North has a 2-1 record in the double elimination tournament. They defeated Aruba, 1-0, in the opener and then topped Indiana Hoosiers North, 8-5, in the next contest. BC North then fell into the loser’s bracket with a, 2-0, setback to Upland (CA).

Dorman has had an integral part in his team’s success. After delivering a double against Aruba in the opener, he came back to pitch to contest against Indiana and also had two singles and two RBI.

In order to remain in the winner’s bracket, Bay City needed to defeat Crowley, LA in Monday night’s contest, which would put them in a rematch with Upland on Tuesday. The winner there would then advance to the semifinals today (Wednesday). The championship game is set for 7 p.m. that night.
