“The Story of Hope”, fundraiser for Marlette Historical Society. Story of family of three children in the Netherlands that harbored eight Jews during World War II. Anneke Burke-Kooistra, one of the children, will tell the story. 6 p.m. at Randy Taylor residence, 6339 Reynolds Rd., Marlette. C.K. Corral’s 6th Pretty Pony Penny Power Rescue Animal Fundraiser, Kautz Shore Lanes, 6840 Lakeshore Rd., Lexington. Hay rides to animals 12-5 p.m., activities for children, $1 hot dogs 12-4 p.m., Rancher’s Special 4-8 p.m. - BBQ chicken $7.99, 50-50 raffle. All proceeds & donations towards needs of large animals.

160th Soule reunion, 1 p.m. pot luck lunch, Forester County Park, 5 ½ miles north of Port Sanilac on M-25.

Saturday Aug. 12

Annual Hog Town Run fundraiser for United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital.

Registration 9 a.m. at Melvin Park, depart 12 p.m. for Hospice House and blessing of the bikes. $20 per person. Evening activities include pig roast, bike games, rustic camping, more. For details, call 810-656- 4942 or 810-614-0200.
