The Red Raiders remained unbeaten, all non-league games, when they stopped the USA Patriots, 2-nil, on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, they topped Bad Axe by the same score.

“I am happy with the way the team has started out winning but do not believe we have competed to our potential,” said Hayden. “In each of the first three games, I have been able to try different line-ups and put different players in spots to try to get the best line-up once league play begins.

He reiterated, “I am really happy with the team’s effort, but we feel we have a great deal of work to do. The team needs to come to each and every practice and compete like it was a game to get ready for the next month and a half of tough soccer.”

In the win over USA, Seth Ferguson and Barret George scored a goal each for the Raiders. Sean Quade and Jake Zuhle both had an assist and keeper Marc Mason had seven saves.

Earlier in the week, against the Hatchets, the goals were tallied by George and Quade (also an assist) and Zuhlke, again, had one assist. In that contest, Mason made five saves.
