Keeping kids warm this winter

Two hundred sixty-eight winter coats, more than 100 hats and other cold weather outerwear were given away Friday at the annual Coats for Kids project sponsored by Open Door Missionary Church in Sandusky. For several weeks people have been bringing good clean coats, gloves, hats, boots and snow pants to collection boxes in area businesses. Displaying coats are (left to right) Coats for Kids volunteers Sandy Beach of Sandusky, Ginny Bullock of Decker, Connie Gueldenzoph of Sandusky, Pastor Brian Ake, and Mary Sanford of Deckerville. Volunteers were treated to lunch by Pizza Hut.
