Cecil Thorley, age 79 passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 after an extended battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born March 23, 1936 in Croswell, the son of the late Cecil H. and Evelyn (Wagner) Thorley.

He dearly loved the winters they spent in Arizona and going to auction sales in the summer at home.

Cecil will be lovingly missed by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; children, Wendy (Dan) Overstreet of Sandusky, Mark (Nancy) Thorley of Snover, LuAnn (Dan) Linington of Croswell, Peggy Percy of Sandusky and Greg Thorley of Sandusky.

Special “Papa T.” to eight grandchildren, Lisa (Dale) Scribner of Sandusky, Matthew Overstreet and fiance Kim Loerop of Colorado, Chad Thorley of Brown City, Kristin (Shane) Willis of Carsonville, Tiffany Green (Aaron Anderson) of Redford, Whitney Linington (Paul McIntyre) of Lexington, Brandon Percy of Arizona, Carly Percy of Sandusky; great grandchildren, Amber, Brady, Zack and Delaney Scribner of Sandusky, Mady and Braelynn Thorley of Snover and Tyler Willis of Carsonville. Also survived by brother Chuck (Marlene) Thorley of Croswell, sister Gloria (Gary) Davis of Oregon; special sisters-in-law Gloria Maxfield of Lapeer and Judy Moore of Sandusky; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 5, officiated by his cousin, Pastor Brian Ake of Open Door Missionary Church of Sandusky with burial in Zion Cemetery in Watertown.

Pallbearers were: sons-in-law Dan Overstreet, Dan Linington; nephews Randy Maxfield, Bryan Maxfield, and Eric Maxfield; and grandsons, Shane Willis, Matt Overstreet, and Dale Scribner.

Memorials may go to United Hospice Service in Marlette or Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky.
