Thieves caught breaking into garage
FLYNN TWP. — Michigan State Police have two suspects in the break-in at a Montgomery Road garage on Saturday.
According to Sgt. Kathy Taylor, troopers and officers from the Brown City and Marlette Police departments were dispatched to a call that people were stealing items from the garage in the early morning hours of Jan. 12.
The police found a 25-yearold Imlay City man waiting in a pick up truck on the roadway for a second man who was discovered at the residence when the officers arrived. The Imlay City man tried to drive away, but was stopped by the Brown City officers.
The troopers and police located automotive equipment and a generator stolen from the garage in the pickup.
The Imlay City man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property, larceny, and receiving and concealing stolen property. He was lodged in Sanilac County Jail pending arraignment.
The police identified the second subject, a 25-year-old man from Georgia, and will seek charges against him through the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s Office.
