Turkey & Rifle Shoot

MARLETTE - The Marlette Sportsmen's Association will be holding a Turkey & Rifle Shoot on Sat., June 16, from 9 a.m. to 12- noon, at the club grounds, located 2 miles west and 4? miles north of Marlette. Handgun & trap Shooting

MARLETTE - The Marlette Sportsmen's Association will be open to anyone wishing to shoot handguns every Tuesday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and trap shooting on Thursday nights at 6 p.m. The club is located 2 miles west and 42 miles north of Marlette. Questions, call Bill Maher at 989- 635-7072.

Youth golf clinic

SANDUSKY - The 2012 Grip It and Rip It Golf Clinic will be held at Woodland Hills Golf Course, Sandusky, on June 19, 20, 21, and 26. The clinic is open to youth in grades 2-8. Sessions are held from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. Clinic cost is $30, or $10 per session. SHS golf coach John Guttowsky will conduct the clinic. Thumb Pride Junior Golf tournament

SANDUSKY - The 2012 Tubbs Brothers Thumb Pride Junior Golf Championships will be held on Wed., June 27, at Woodland Hills Golf Club, Sandusky. Competition is open in four different age brackets: 9-11 yrs. old, 4 Holes, 9:15 a.m. tee-off, entry fee $3 per player; 12- 13 yrs. old, 9 Holes, 9 a.m. tee-off, entry fee $6; 14-15 yrs. old, 18 Holes, 8:30 a.m. tee-off, $10 entry fee; 16-18 yrs. old, 18 Holes, 8:30 a.m. tee-off, $10 entry fee. $10 sports physicals

BROWN CITY - Michael Ogboh, DO, DABFM and Kimberly Verellen, PA-C of Family HealthCare of Brown City will be providing reduced price sports physicals to area athletes for a cost of $10; half of the proceeds will be donated back to Brown City Schools’ Athletic Program. These physicals will be offered on June 14, by appointment, at their office located at 4472 Main Street, Brown City; and again on August 2 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., walk-ins, at the Brown City High School. Deckerville, Sandusky alumni football

DECKERVILLE - Former Deckerville and Sandusky football players will play an alumni game on Fri., July 27, 2012, at Deckerville High School, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $50 for players wishing to compete in the game or be an honorary coach. Admission for spectators will be $5; children 10 & under admitted free of charge.

Will2Walk scramble

PORT SANILAC - The Third Annual Will2Walk Golf Scramble will be held on Sat., July 28, 2012 at Huron Shores Golf Club, Port Sanilac. The event is organized by Richard Hamill, a Deckerville High grad who was paralyzed in a car accident and is now the founder of the Will2Walk Foundation. All funds generated by this outing will support Will2Walk's mission to promote awareness about spinal cord injuries and educate people with spinal cord injuries about what they can do to prepare for the cure. Cost to enter is $75 per person (four-person teams) and includes golf and catered lunch. For non-golfers, lunch is offered for $15 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. PORT HURON - Registration is open for St. Clair County Community College's Skipper Summer Sports Camps for students age 8 to 18. Dare Devil Dash entry forms available

BROWN CITY - The very popular, and challenging, Dare Devil Dash is set to go on Sat., July 28, 2012 in Brown City. The event is an extreme 5K run through Brown City Park, facing mud, water and a dozen obstacles. There is also a Little Dare Devils Run, a one mile race for kids under 12. Early registration fees are: Little Dare Devils - $10, Individual 5K - $35, and Team 5K (teams of 4) - $120. The first 100 people to register for the extreme 5K will receive a free shirt. SC4 alumni golf outing

PORT HURON - The 24th Annual SC4 Alumni Association Golf Classic will be held Fri., June 15, 2012, at Port Huron Golf Club. Check-in will be at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 1 p.m.; hoers d'oeuvres, awards and prizes at 5:30 p.m. Cost to enter is $500 per team for the fourperson scramble; limited to first 32 teams with paid registration. A variety of sponsorships also available. Proceeds benefit alumni association projects, including scholarships. Nearly $28,000 was raised last year. Sandusky 3-on-3 set

SANDUSKY - The annual Sandusky 3-0n-3 basketball tournament will be held on Sat., June 23, 2012, at Doerr Field. Entry fee is $60 for three or four person team. The event is open to male and female teams from Grade 3 to adults. Tournament officials are urging younger kids to enter and enjoy a family-friendly environment. All players will receive a Sandusky 3-on-3 Tshirt if entered by June 15.
