Milton E. Disser, Jr., age 79, of Lexington, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 in his home with his family at his side.

Milton was born June 15, 1931 in Detroit, the son of the late Milton E., Sr. and Vivian (Reese) Disser.

He married Ruth M. (Kottmann) on August 19, 1956 in Detroit and together they had five children, Tammy (Tony Fahoome) Disser of Harrison Twp., Tina (Gary) Suerwier of Bad Axe, Maureen (Dave) Solgot of St. Clair, Milton, III (Julie) of Clearwater, FL and Steven (Lisa) of Lexington; four grandchildren, who often referred to him as Grandpa Angel, Randy and Steven Suerwier, Heather Brewer and Danielle Solgot; one great grandchild, Logan and another on the way; two sisters, Vivian Aylesworth of Troy and Barbara Kunec of Houston, TX.

His wife Ruth preceded him in death March 12, 1998.

Milton spent much of his career in the food industry. He traveled all over the country as a marketing specialist for Bee Gee Shrimp, of Lakeland, FL. He had been active in his community as Village of Lexington Trustee, Village President and Lexington Twp. Supervisor. He was extremely well read with interests in many areas. He was known for writing a “good” letter and people often turned to him for counsel. Milt was also a regular at his (club) Bush’s Restaurant in Lexington for many years, where he was known as “Precious”.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Lexington, with his friend Rev. Barry Sheldon who officiated.
