Bays on this year’s team: “We have had a great start to practice this season. This team has has more speed than we have had in a few years, and works together well. But, size is an issue with only a few players over 200 pounds. If we can stay healthy, we can compete with the top teams in the GTC East and make a run for the playoffs. We have a very tough early schedule.”

Bays on the GTC East: “Ubly is the clear favorite with key returners on offense and defense and some great athletes coming up from JV. Marlette and Harbor Beach have many players returning from young teams and will be much improved. Brown City is loaded with talented players throughout their system and will be strong again. Mayville also has many key returning players.......... There will be no easy weeks for any teams, I could easily see four or more teams make the playoffs” On Deckerville, a perennial East power, moving to the NCTL: “The loss of a rival like Deckerville will be felt by every team, but it will be especially missed by us due to our local tradition.” The Eagles are not on the Redskins schedule this fall, but are expected to return in the near future as a non-league contest.
