Thieleman takes helm at Sanilac United Way
The United Way Board of Directors appointed Thieleman following the retirement of longtime director Kent France and financial officer Linda France.
“To say these two will be missed in an understatement,” said Thieleman. “I know the position will be challenging, but thanks to Kent and Linda France, I am prepared and ready for that challenge.”
Since she is taking over both part-time positions, it will become a full-time position.
Thieleman has been working with United Way since September 2009 and has taken over the majority of the responsibilities of the organization. She is well known in the area and is eager to take the organization to the next chapter.
“There are some different areas we’re going to look at, as far as different agencies and different ways of funding. Especially here in Sanilac County, for the need is great and donations are down,” she said.
She plans to discuss new possibilities with the board when she assumes her new role April 1.
Thieleman attended Michigan State University and received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Baker College. She served as payroll and benefit coordinator for Croswell-Lexington Schools.
Most recently she was Human Resources Manager at the Home Depot in Fort Gratiot.
Thieleman lives in Lexington and has two daughters, Patricia and Elizabeth Blume.
