DECKERVILLE - The month of January was a long one for Coach Pat Oswald. His Deckerville girls hoops squad could not find a way to win a GTC East game. However, on Friday night that all ended when the Lady Eagles rolled past Ubly, 57-46. Deckerville is now 1-6 in the East and 6-7 overall while the Bearcats slipped to 0-6, 1-12. More ... UBLY - Coach Cindy Burton feels her team was still feeling the residual effects from a tough one-point loss at Sandusky last week. But, it still did not stop her Lady Green Devils from easily going to 5-1 in the GTC East last Wednesday, dumping Ubly, 67-30. More ... SANDUSKY - After a nice early start to the season, times have turned harder for Ryan Pritchett, Sandusky’s rookie boys hoops coach. His Redskins had a chance to tighten the GTC East standings Friday night, but instead, Harbor Beach remained unbeaten by pulling away to a 62-51 victory at the Thumb Dome. More ... FAIRGROVE - A pair of victories in NCTL boys hoops play last week has pushed the CPS Tigers into a share of the South Division lead. The latest triumph came at Akron-Fairgrove on Friday night when they fought off the Vikings, 44-35. The Tigers, at 6- 3, 7-5 overall, share the division lead with Peck. More ... More ... PECK - The improving Peck girls basketball team ended a tough eight-day stretch of games in NCTL play on Monday by just missing an upset. The Lady Pirates fell at home to Kingston, 37-34. Peck (-1-10, 1-11) outscored the Cardinals (10-4, 11-4), 22- 18, in the second half after trailing by seven at the intermission. More ... CAPAC - After winning four of its last five games overall, Cros-Lex ran into some problems in BWAC play last week. First, it was a good Yale team, and, then, it was lousy shooting.
